Treatment also began for two brothers who came with a request to quit drug addiction
Amritsar. While Akshay Sharma, BJP leader from North constituency and in-charge of the Youth Contact Campaign, was meeting people during a meeting in Karmapura, two brothers pleaded for help to quit drug addiction. Sharma immediately gave instructions and began providing them with assistance in getting them admitted to the hospital.As part of the Drug Free Punjab Yatra, Akshay Sharma, in-charge of the Youth Contact Campaign for 21 assembly constituencies, organized a meeting in Karmapura. He met with several families and youth and urged those affected by drug addiction to quit.Addressing the crowd, Akshay Sharma said that Punjab is currently completely engulfed in drug abuse, and everyone should work together to combat it.
He urged that if anyone approaches him again seeking votes, they should ask him where he was when these problems were occurring in their homes. He said, “You know the kind of dirty water that’s coming into homes today. You also know how diseases are increasing in homes.”He said, “The same people who listen to people’s problems for five years, come back to you five years later and join you. You work for them, stand with them, raise slogans for them, and welcome them, but after they win the election, there’s no one to ask about your problems. These things need to be considered.
“Akshay Sharma said, “I appeal to all of you to work together to free our youth from the evil of drug addiction.” He said that every member of the Bharatiya Janata Party is always on the ground to help anyone in society who is trapped in this evil. He and his team are also continuously working in this regard. He appealed to the people that if anyone has any kind of problem, he is always there for them. On this occasion, he also met with people and connected them with the youth contact campaign.
